Augusto Santos Silva has been President of the Portuguese Republic Assembly since 29 March 2022. He holds a PhD in Sociology from ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon (1992). He is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto. He holds a PhD in sociology from the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) and an aggregation in social sciences from the University of Porto. Augusto works in the areas of epistemology and methodology of the social sciences, sociology of culture; and political science and theory.
