Diego Soares Rebouças holds a degree in Social Communication, specialising in Advertising and Propaganda, from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and a Master’s degree from the Postgraduate Programme in Communication (Federal University of Ceará (PPGCOM / UFC), officially recognised by the University of Porto. He is a member of the Research Group on Creative Economy, Art and Society of the State University of Ceará, linked to the DGP/CNPQ, through which he participated and presented research work at the 9th ESA Research Network Sociology of the Arts (ESA - Arts), held in Porto, Portugal, in 2016. He recently joined the Ceará Observatory of Food Culture – OCCA, where he has developed his current research interests. He has published work in national and international journals and in book chapters in Brazil, Portugal and France. He has also supervised academic work and has participated in undergraduate and postgraduate thesis committees. He is currently developing research in the main areas of Communication, Sociology of Culture, and Sociology of Food. Other interests include the Sociology of Art, especially the field of images (theories of image), art, culture, cyberculture; communication practices; transnational migratory movements; eating habits; food as medicine; lovacorism; hybrid identities in diasporic gastronomy.
