The main objective of the academic journal “Sociologia: Revista da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto is to disseminate sociological works of high quality and theoretical and empirical relevance. The journal is open to contributions from other social science disciplines. 

Since December 2023, the journal has been edited by the Institute of Sociology, maintaining its collaboration with the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Letters – University of Porto, where it has been based since its creation in 1991.
