Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a priority topic in the programmes and objectives of major international institutions with political and social responsibilities, both for the potential of socio-economic development that it entails and for the multiple risks and ethical challenges it poses to Fundamental Human Rights. Its disruptive character due to the speed, scope and systemic impact that characterise the technological revolution of which it is hegemonically part makes AI a "total social phenomenon" that calls for an urgent sociological approach. This project proposes to study the impacts of AI on Human Rights, through the promotion of knowledge and reflection on Responsible Artificial Intelligence/ethics involving the main stakeholders. The following specific objectives have been defined: 1. to identify the main challenges and potential of AI in its relation with Human Rights; 2. to identify the European Union strategies concerning Public Policies for the promotion of Responsible AI; 3. to identify the social representations of Artificial Intelligence and its impacts on societies in general and on Human Rights in particular; 4. Identify strategies to prevent risks arising from the use of intelligent systems; 5. Promote the active participation of multidisciplinary groups/stakeholders in the reflection/action on Responsible AI; 6. Promote the dissemination of knowledge of Responsible Artificial Intelligence. We have adopted a qualitative Action-Research methodology based on a constructivist epistemological stance, fundamentally rested on semi-structured interviews and Active Reflection Groups/Communities of Practice.

End beneficiaries/target population: Experts in Artificial Intelligence/technological areas and other stakeholders from areas such as: Social Policies; Education; Law; Philosophy, Social Economy/3rd Sector; Community in general.
