Portuguese sociology is a child of the April Revolution. As part of  celebrations of the Carnation Revolution, the Institute of Sociology is 
is organising the Colloquium "25 April and Sociology in Portugal". This event  will feature several panels made up of leading figures in sociology in 
sociology in Portugal, from different generations and organisational  backgrounds, who will debate the institutionalisation of sociology in teaching and research, its professionalisation and the role of sociologists and  sociologists in the construction of democratic Portugal. O  colloquium will take place on 27 September at FLUP's Noble Amphitheatre,  with free admission. Full programme attached.
